About Ray Coudriet Builder
For over three decades, Orlando based Ray Coudriet Builder, has provided construction services for high-end residential estates with unparalleled attention to detail. Founder and president Ray Coudriet has confidently maintained his philosophy that with the expertise of his team, they can build anything that can be drawn.
An entrepreneur since the age of 23, Ray's passion for home building began much earlier, as he watched his builder father turn people's dreams into three-dimensional structures. Clients have always placed a great deal of trust in Ray's abilities, and with an uncompromising work ethic of building everything correctly the first time, he exceeded his honorable reputation.
Ray Coudriet Builder provides a complete spectrum of services, from site selection to collaboration with architects and construction, or in whatever stage the client needs the company's know-how. Orchestrating the entire build, an intimate managerial and supportive staff ensures that each structure is completed in a timely and professional manner by a talented group of subcontractors and artisans. Whether the home is 5,000 or 40,000 square feet, Ray and his team take great pride in knowing that every house they have built has resold substantially more than the owner invested: clients choose wisely when they select Ray Coudriet Builder.
For Ray, the most enjoyable aspect of being an ultra luxury home builder is having the resources to creatively accomplish any task. A quite involved project was the construction of a 32,000-square-foot Texas traditional estate, for which he acquired one-inch-thick, bulletproof windows that measured an extraordinary 25 feet x 10 feet, and as if transporting them from the West Coast were not involved enough, the painstaking installation required industrial suction cups and cranes. While some would shy away from such challenges, Ray accepts new adventures with open arms, eager to expand the capabilities and portfolio of his company.
A compliment to their caliber of build, Ray's ultimate goal is that his homes age gracefully, meaning that one cannot tell whether a house was built yesterday or a hundred years ago. He appreciates all styles of architecture, provided they are authentically designed and constructed; since Ray searches globally for ideal building materials, the sky is his limit for perfection. Ray has the resources to make anything happen, and on a single project, Ray could easily source hand-carved or regional materials from China, France, Mexico and other corners of the world.
Great attention is paid to the visible details of each house; however, just as much care is given to elements unseen. Commonly, they build steel frames and concrete second floors because his team takes great pride in their work. Ray describes the structures they build as having "commercial quality frames and Steinway piano finishes."
Because of this meticulous approach, Ray Coudriet Builder has attracted an impressive celebrity clientele who have commissioned elaborate homes with movie theatres, bowling alleys, discos, cigar bars, elaborate swimming pools and full size gymnasiums. In partnership with long-time client, friend, and basketball all-star Shaquille O'Neal, Ray formed Coudriet Custom Shaqs, a venture which both parties have enjoyed immensely.
Ray Coudriet Builder has carved out a niche in developing theme and fantasy rooms for children and adults, respectively. The company transformed a child's living space into an outdoor camping area, complete with cabin-like bunk beds, an inner tube bathtub, and an interactive shower where clouds darken and rain falls when a chain is pulled. From this and other successes, Ray has proven that his company can build anything that can be drawn.
His personal island-like residence reflects the lifestyle of his family. Jan, his real estate broker wife, is extremely pleased with her closet that measures larger than a two car garage. Their master bedroom is uniquely round yet not classifiable as Contemporary. Trellises grace the ceilings throughout the open, casual, elegant, livable space.
Ray's work has graced the cover of many prestigious magazines and been featured most notably on MTV's production "Cribs" and a "Good Morning America" special that highlighted five select estates from across the country. Ray has received a variety of builder accolades from multiple Aurora awards to being named the 1998 America's Best Builder.
